Dear Friends of Israel -
In this newsletter you
will find several of
this week's leading
headlines and, perhaps
more importantly, their
tie-in with
Christianity, Israel
and/or the Middle East.
You may/may not have
noticed that these
articles appear on our
blog and/or official
site. This is by design.
However, rest assured,
we will always run them
in our newsletter first,
usually 1-2 days before
posting them to our
site. This puts our
newsletter subscribers
in a favorable, albeit
trivial position as they
see our articles before
they go "live".
On to this week's
headlines....

Olmert and Abbas to Meet
Ahead of Summit |
Israeli Prime Minister
Ehud Olmert simply
cannot wait to hand over
Israel's territorial
sovereignty to the sworn
enemies of the Jewish
state. In fact, he's
told US Secretary of
State Condoleeza Rice,
hardly a "friend of
Israel" herself, that he
was ready to reach an
agreement on
"substantive issues"
ahead of the scheduled
Midde East summit,
scheduled to take place
in November.
You'll remember last
summer, even as
Hezbollah rockets were
raining down on northern
Israeli communities like
Kiryat Sh'mona, it was
Olmert who refused to
abandon his lethal
infatuation with handing
over Judea and Samaria,
as well as the Golan
Heights, to the
"Palestinians".
"Palestinian" President
Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas),
branded as a man
"committed to peace" by
President Bush, is no
dummy. He has Olmert
right where he wants
him: weak, tired and
against the ropes.
You'll recall, in last
week's newsletter, it
was Abbas who
effectively intimidated
Olmert into releasing of
over 250 "Palestinian"
terrorists from an
Israeli prison, last
week. Since he
encountered no
resistance in the
process, Abbas is asking
for a whole lot more,
and, he'll get it.

WND: CAIR Director Attended
Hamas Meeting |
Perhaps you remember the
case involving the
"Flying Imams" last
November, when a group
of six Muslim imams,
having just boarded US
Airways Flight 300
scheduled to depart from
Minneapolis en route to
Phoenix, were removed
from the flight after
several passengers and
crew noticed them
behaving very
erratically and,
subsequently, reported
it to airline officials.
Perhaps you will also
remember that it was the
CAIR (Council on
American-Islamic
Relations) that
spearheaded the lawsuit
that followed in which
the six imams sued the
passengers who initially
reported them. Not
surprising in the least,
this case grew legs
quickly and found itself
on Capitol Hill in the
form of the "John Doe
Bill", where it was
ultimately upheld thanks
to House Republicans.
Had the Democrats had
their way, air
passengers who, in good
faith, report suspicious
activity would not be
protected from civil
lawsuits, such as the
one spearheaded by CAIR
on behalf of the "flying
imams". The executive
director of CAIR, Nihad
Awad, led the charge in
that case, and he's back
in the headlines, again.

Christian Zionists to
Israel:
"Don't Give Up a Square
Inch."
|
Those familiar with this
ministry know I am not,
at all, fond of the
term, "Christian
Zionist". I use it in my
articles because I am
fond of the fundamental
beliefs shared by true
"Christian Zionists",
and such beliefs have
become known under this
terminology. Even so,
the term hasn't exactly
enjoyed a favorable
reputation--inside and
outside of today's
Church. It is a called a
"movement"; a form of
Christian "extremism",
in many circles, and it
is here that I draw the
proverbial "line in the
sand".
You see, Christian
Zionism is not a
"movement", as if to say
it's the "latest craze",
as it were. And no, we
do not believe it is our
job to bring about
"Armageddon", as many
misguided, "Christian"
pastors and
pro-"Palestinian"
supporters like
the Anglican, Stephen
Sizer, would have you
believe. Quite simply,
if you are a
Bible-believing
Christian, then you, my
friend, are a "Christian
Zionist". How is this
so? The Word of God
clearly and consistently
instructs each and
everyone of us to
support, bless, and pray
for His people. These
instructions are
illustrated, rather
clearly, in a "biblical
mandate" to which I have
referred as " The
Biblical Mandate of
Christian Zionism".
As Bible-believing
Christians, we support
Israel. We do not agree
with many of her
governmental policies,
at times. In fact,
"Christian Zionists"
often stand in
diametrical opposition
to such policies. Case
in point, the Israeli
withdrawals from her
Biblical, God-given
lands. (See Joel 3:2)
Quite literally, we, as
Bible-believing
Christians, must stand
united not only in our
support of Israel, but
in our doctrinal beliefs
that say to Israel,
"Don't give up a square
inch".

American Universities and
Islam: Keeping "Pace" with
Appeasement
|
 |
Here's a riddle, albeit a
factual truth, for you:
Where will flushing a Q'uran
down the toilet at New
York's Pace University land
you?
In jail.
What would this act be
called?
A hate crime in which Muslim
students are impacted by the
creation of what could be
viewed as a hostile campus
environment. .
What could you look forward
to if you were to place a
Crucifix inside a glass cup,
fill the cup to the top with
your own urine, photograph
it, and then give your
brilliant creation the name,
"Piss Christ"?
Are you ready for the "punchline"?
You'd be named the winner of
the Southeastern Center for
Contemporary Art's "Awards
in the Visual Arts"
competition.
What would THIS act be
called?
"Art."
That's not all, your "art"
would be funded by
a $15,000 grant from the
National Endowment of the
Arts. Your tax dollars
hard at work.
