Christians Standing with Israel Newsletter
Volume I, Issue VIII
October 15, 2007
Shalom, Friends of Israel,

In this newsletter, you will find several of this week's leading relevant headlines and, perhaps more importantly, their tie-in with the Word. You may/may not have noticed that these articles appear on our blog and/or official site. This is by design. However, rest assured, we will always run them in our newsletter first, usually 1-2 days before posting them to our site. This puts our newsletter subscribers in a favorable, albeit trivial position as they see our articles before they go "live".

Israel is rapidly approaching one of her most vulnerable and dangerous periods in recent history, and all signs point to it getting worse, before it gets better. Continue to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Psa. 122:6); that "peace be within thy walls" (Psa. 122:7)

It's been a very active couple of weeks on the international stage. Let's take a look at some of this week's headlines.

Meet Irena Sendler
Irena Sendler. Are you familiar with the name? Most people may not be. However, byIrena-Sendler the end of this article, you will see that this is a woman who personifies courage, strength, honor, fortitude and love--traits that most of us, including myself, claim to possess, yet rarely exhibit--to an extent that is simply unfathomable. She is a true warrior; an authentic champion.

You see, Ms. Sendler, who celebrated her 97th birthday earlier this year, can lay claim to the primary role in a story that is as compelling as it is astonishing. As a young, Roman Catholic, Polish woman in 1942, Ms. Sendler defied torture and death at the hands of the Nazis in order to save the lives of 2,500 Jewish children in the Warsaw Ghetto. In so doing, she single-handedly rescued these children from death--a death that would have followed with 100% certainty--in the Nazi concentration camps of Europe.

Condoleezza Rice: Tipping Her Hand
It seems highly likely that an upcoming peace summit between Israel and the "Palestinian" Authority, scheduled for late November in Anapolis, MD, may have met with a rather "untimely" delay. Apparently, the stakes are little too high for the Israeli government, and rightly so, to concede to the immediate and final negotiations surrounding the creation of a "Palestinian" state in East Jerusalem, much to the dismay of her Arab counterparts. The proverbial one-two punch that exists in the form of intense pressure by the United States--specifically, Condoleezza Rice--and the "Palestinian" Authority toward Israel to concede to an absolute agreement on final status issues is taking its toll on the Israeli government, who is now posturing from a "Let's slow down and talk about this" position.

More and more, Condoleezza Rice is allowing her agenda of desperation to get the best of her. Her legacy, and that of the Bush administration has landed itself in a "vice of diplomacy"--one that tightens by the day. Consider her recent reactions to several political issues involving Israel and her Arab neighbors, as of late.

Recently, the presence of nuclear material in Syria was discovered and confirmed by Israeli commandos, thus lending justification for the Israeli air strike that followed which essentially neutralized the threat. Reports confirm that Condoleezza Rice did everything possible to delay and prevent the response by the Israeli military. In a sense, she hoped Israel would "look the other way and forget what they discovered." She failed. Could this have anything to do with the possibility and likelihood of her aspirations--that is, her infatuation--with creating a "Palestinian" state might be derailed in lieu of an Israeli incursion in Syria?

Consider her most recent reaction, observed during her current and ongoing visit to the Middle East.  Israeli officials told Rice that "it was still too early to get into the nitty-gritty of negotiations for a final Israel-PA peace deal.", a position that could potentially delay an upcoming peace summit with a negotiating partner who "wants it all right now." What was Rice's reaction to the Israeli statement?

Says Rice, "We've been putting these issues off for decades, and it's time that everything is put on the table and decided. The time has come for a Palestinian state."

Does this not sound like someone arguing from a position of desperation and/or impatience? What's the hurry, Condoleezza? If said issues have been ongoing for "decades", as you have readily asserted, then what harm is there in further delay if it means both parties are in full understanding and agreement with the issues brought to the table? Could it be, Condoleezza Rice, that you and your administration have only 1 year left to make good on your pledge to the "Palestinians"?

Perhaps the most insidious of Rice's remarks came at the end of today's negotiations. After acknowledging Prime Minister Olmert's "coalition difficulties" in his own government, Rice stated she "would not force him to take steps that are 'not acceptable to Israel'."  Who are you, Condoleezza Rice, to presume that you have the authority to "force" any country, especially Israel, to make any kind of diplomatic or political decision, regardless of its potential ramifications? Her agenda is apparent, and it has absolutely nothing to do with neither Israel's best interests nor her national security. It's time for Ehud Olmert and Ehud Barak to send this woman back from where she came--emptyhanded. The question is: Do they have the fortitude to do so?
"The 'Palestinians' never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity."
The headline of this segment were the words spoken by one Abba Eban, an Israeli who served as Foreign Minister during the Six Day War. History has shown that such words could never be more apropos. Presented, on multiple occasions, with Israeli concessions that would enable them to have their own "state", as it were, the conglomeration of Arabs known as the "Palestinians" have consistently allowed their greed to systematically destroy their chances of ever enjoying one.

Arafat preferred his intifadas over a "Palestinian" state in the same manner in which Hamas prefers their Qassams. In both scenarios, the "Palestinians" gained nothing, yet lost and continue to lose a great deal.  One can, with little deliberation, draw the logical conclusion that states the "Palestinians" are marginally concerned with the creation of their own state, yet radically infatuated with preventing the Jewish people from having theirs. Their greed and ignorance can be traced back for decades. Shortly before Israel's declaration of independence, the Arabs rejected a partition plan that would allow them their own state alongside the newly-created Jewish homeland. Their rejection led to a war--a war through which they profited nothing.

Fast forward, if you will, to the present day.  Once again, the "Palestinians" are on the verge of landing at the bargaining table alongside a willing, albeit weak, Israeli government. Once again, the "Palestinians" are determined to allow their greed to destroy their chances of seeing their own state become a reality. "Palestinian" ignorance continues to be one of Israel's best friends.

Here is another example of the "Palestinian" greed that is driving the Israeli's away from the bargaining table, and thank God for it.

Sincerely,

Allah, Kill Americans

The "Palestinian" Authority, the very organization to which the Bush administration is supplying aid and emboldering as a suitable negotiating partner with Israel, has once again shown its true colors and "moderate" tendencies by publishing, in its own newspapers, illustrations facilitating a prayer that calls for the killing of Americans.

Ah, yes. Your tax dollars hard at work.

First Place:

Who can argue with the overtures of peace this man has extended toward humanity?

Second Place:

Arguably the weakest, most incompetent U.S. president to ever walk the West Wing, Jimmy Carter continues to unleash his campaign of anti-Israeli/pro-"Palestinian" propaganda. The following presentation, courtesy of The Terrorism Awareness Project, examines Carter's pathological infatuation with middle eastern history's most prevalent myth: "Palestine". Third Place:

More fitting would be the likes of Mikhail Gorbachev, but I'll extend the "honor" to the Nobel's most recent joke, Al Gore.
